Last updated June 26, 2026
This policy explains what personal information CIVITAS ("CIVITAS", "we", "us") collects, why we collect it, how we use and protect it, and the choices you have. CIVITAS is an independent investment-migration advisory based in San Diego, United States, serving clients internationally.
Information we collect
Information you give us. When you contact us or request a Program-Fit Report, we collect what you submit: your name, email address, nationality, family details, budget range, goals, timeline, and any message you send. You choose what to provide.
Information collected automatically. When you use our sites we may collect standard technical data such as IP address, device and browser type, pages viewed, and referring source, through privacy-respecting analytics. We do not use this to identify you personally.
How we use your information
- To respond to you and to prepare and deliver advisory work you request.
- To coordinate, where you engage us, with the licensed lawyers, agents and tax advisers a matter requires.
- To operate, secure and improve our sites.
- To meet legal, regulatory, and anti-money-laundering obligations.
Our legal bases (where GDPR applies)
We process personal data on the bases of your consent, our performance of a contract or steps taken at your request, our legitimate interests in running and improving the business, and compliance with legal obligations.
How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with: vetted, licensed professional partners involved in a matter you have engaged us on; service providers who process data on our behalf under contract (for example hosting and analytics); and authorities where required by law. Program providers and developers never receive your data as a condition of a recommendation.
Data retention
We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes above or as required by law, after which it is deleted or anonymised.
Security
We use appropriate technical and organisational measures, including encryption of data in transit, to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, port, or restrict the processing of your personal data, to object to processing, and to withdraw consent. California residents have the right to know what we collect, to request deletion, and to opt out of any sale of personal information, which we do not do. To exercise any right, contact us at the address below.
International transfers
We operate internationally, so your information may be processed in countries other than your own. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for such transfers.
Cookies and analytics
We use a minimal set of cookies and analytics to understand site usage and improve it. You can control cookies through your browser settings.
Children
Our services are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The "last updated" date above reflects the most recent version.
